Isaiah was asked by a neighbor if we wanted to share a ride with them while their kids have beginning swimming lessons for the next 5 weeks. Now, you can tell how exciting this is for a little boy by how wide his mouth is :) Sadly, the teachers scare Isaiah so badly that he won't even let them touch him. Interesting the new things you learn about your child. I always thought of him as outgoing, but he is actually quite shy and I am glad that he is wary of strangers touching him. Anyway, after much persuasion, we have spent the last couple times with me sitting along side him in the pool while he bobs up and down in the water. Thankfully the lessons were not too expensive because the high school swim team members are the teachers.

And this is how Isaiah looks when we arrive home each night. Exhausted and asleep (but happy I think). His tongue is actually hanging out but I think the picture is too dark to tell :)

I think just being in the water and getting comfortable with that is a good start! I remember my first swimming lessons, I was about 4, and the swimming teacher left me in the deep end even though I told her I wasn't ready. So I started sinking, and the thing I felt worst about was the lifeguard had to jump in with all her clothes on! Funny how you perceive life as a pre-schooler. Isaiah, you'll get it. Just have fun in the water, I love water now!
How cute!! Sweet Isaiah.
I always loved the pool but didn't care for the lessons either. The teacher/lifeguards were always so intimidating...and I wasn't that good. At least it looks like you go to an indoor pool. Our lessons were outside in the early morning and it was always so cold! It was close to torture (in a my mind, anyway)
so sweet... i'm sure he has a great time. i want to start taking caleb, but right now he gets so cold in the pool i think he might die of hypothermia:) i'm glad isaiah gets to go! and it's so nice to have them exhausted at the end of the day!
