A Whole Lotta Firsts

So here was our first first this weekend. Didn't mean to studder. QHS football has begun. Now the score was nothing to speak of...let's just say they lost, but they only had 4 injured and 1 spend the night in the hospital (everyone is ok and still playing even by today). I myself do not think I have even been in a more stressful situation. Alan only had 15 eligible to play that day and the other team had 40. I was afraid for the lives and backs and necks of the guys, but apparently they had a wonderful time. They seemed to love it! 9 of them had never played any sport before so they learned a lot.

This picture was taken earlier this morning. Let the record show Isaiah's very first day of preschool. I think of Erica and Christy especially and our times at Montavilla when we used to teach kiddos this age. It is crazy to think about my son being that old. Now this is not the best picture of him, he would not be happy to see it, but even though he was excited, he had trouble waking up and smiling for the camera.

It got progressively better :)

The next first happened earlier this weekend. Isaiah had his first soccer practice and game. Now I realize after going through this that 4 year olds do not quite have the concept of 'team' or score of the game. All they care about is running running running and kicking (or throwing) the ball in the goal. He loved it!

Also, a first for Daddy...caught on film playing soccer, this was a step for him, but kids help even their parents grow :)
The future player...

those are such sweet pics! the ones of him waking up are hilarious! i know about the montavilla thing... it's crazy to have kids and be the parent now. i think about those kids sometimes and try to picture caleb in there with them. wierd. anyway, it's exciting that they are able to start doing some stuff! that's pretty fun that alan's coaching - better than playing i would think!
