Ocean + Surfing

Our family spent a night and day at Westport, the Washington State surfing place to be I guess. Alan has been one other time, and this was my first time holding a surf board. It was actually quite fun. I did not actually surf of course, i will save that for the professionals, but I was out there riding the waves in my super snug wet suit (the only way us Washingtonians can keep from freezing in the water). The only bad part about it was changing in the nasty showers and still not getting all the sand off...and carring that huge long board thing! My arms still hurt!

On our way out to the beach for the first time. can you tell they are excited?
Alan's first trek out to the calling waves

Having fun laughing at the practically drowning mommy (Isaiah was so sweet though because each time I would walk back out there i could hear a little voice calling "come on mom, you can do it!")

My mountain climbing son

After a long afternoon fighting the waves (he even stood up a bunch of times)
Here is how my little girl looks after a long, wet afternoon..quite cold

That looks like a lot of fun! Looking at those sunny pictures, you wouldn't know it was cold.
